Get rid of all the junk.
First, clean your hob from any debris. Spray the preferred kitchen degreaser on the hob, then wipe it with a microfibre towel to give it a quick clean. After drying the surface, wipe it clean with a microfibre cloth.
Spray with Vinegar
A light coating of vinegar should be applied to the hob. Please pay particular attention to the ceramic hob rings, as they are the most vulnerable area for food particles. Attention to food that has been burned. The liquid’s acidity can remove grease and stains from the hob.
Sprinkle with Bicarbonate Of Soda
A household ingredient, bicarbonate of soda, can be safely used to clean ceramic hobs. It is also very effective in cleaning hard water areas. Ensure to sprinkle enough bicarbonate soda on your hob to cause a fizzing reaction. This is when you know that the cleaner has done its job.
Take a break before you move on to the next step.
Use kitchen roll to clean up.
Take some kitchen roll and work the fizzing solution onto any marks on your hob. Use pressure to remove the most stubborn marks. You can use the kitchen roll to remove the greased paper liberally.
Rinse the remaining residue
Use a kitchen roll to absorb any remaining bicarbonate soda and vinegar mixture. Finally, wipe off any food that is still on the surface.
After that, mix a little washing-up liquid in another bowl. Then, use a microfibre towel to wipe the hob’s surface.
You should see a sparkling hob, and it will look brand new. If your hob has more difficulty removing marks, you might need to follow the steps below.
Remove the most difficult marks from your ceramic hob.
These steps should be performed less often than the ones above. They can be used to treat tougher marks or burnt-on carbon that might occur from spilling liquids onto a hot stove.
You don’t need to do the remaining steps if your hob looks clean after following steps 1 through 6.
Use a Hob Scraper to remove food that has been burned.
A hob scraper must remove any food burned on a ceramic hob.
This is the best way to go about it. Start by scraping off small pieces of food, then tackle each bit of burned-on food.
Also, it would help if you did not use too much force with your scraper or press down too hard on the hob. You should always ensure that the scraper blade of your hob is horizontal. This reduces the risk of getting scratched.
Remove all traces
After scraping the hob with a microfibre towel and warm water, wipe off any residue.
Use a Hob to Cleaner
Use a cleaner suitable for ceramic hobs like The Pink Stuff to clean any small pieces of burned food. Use a little bit of the cleaner on a microfibre towel to rub over the food. The Pink Stuff is mildly abrasive and will stir up any food that has been burned. It can be used to clean off food.
As with all cleaning products, ensure that the Pink Stuff is safe for your hob.
Shine Your Ceramic Hob
Use a glass cleaner to make sure your hob sparkles. Use a microfibre cloth to buff your hob.
