I’ve always been wary of high-end vacuums because my parents have purchased costly, stylish models only to break in a matter of months. My mother is convinced we’re cursed, and I’m with her. Based on my family’s experience using vacuums, I’ve not spent more than $40 for one to ensure that it doesn’t disappoint me and fails to work. However, when I had the chance to test LG’s CordZero All-in-One Automatic-Empty Stick Vacuum, featured on AT’s list of the best vacuums to remove pet hair, I could not say no.
The LG CordZero boasts a sleek appearance, powerful suction, and a dock that automatically empties itself, which can charge the batteries simultaneously (the first stick vacuum that does this!). It is also the only one that leaves no dust or anxiety. It’s not just that the vacuum quickly transforms into a handheld vacuum with various cleaning tools and can be transformed into a mop by using the mop attachment that comes with it. The vacuum motor comes with ten years of warranty, and the parts come with a one-year contract to ensure your security, too. It sounded way too appealing to be true for me, and I was determined to give it a go!
I reside in a place with a minor bug problem and a cute but shed cat. My stick vacuum could not deal with the cat’s hair or food crumbs, so I took it out of the LG CordZero box within the first few minutes shortly after it was delivered. Although the vacuum seemed daunting with its charging stand, it only required me, someone who constructed the IKEA dresser drawers upside down, just a few minutes to put it together. It was as simple as sliding an upright platform beneath that charging stand. Then, slide both pieces of the vacuum in and insert the battery. It was sweat-free and easy. When I decided to give this a go first, I worried it would be too big in my tiny apartment. However, I could slide it into the corner of my desk. It’s 10.1 inches in width and 11.7 inches deep, which makes it easy to fit into an area that is corner (or even in a closet). This beige hue is my preferred wall color, perfect for interior decor.
I plugged the charger into the stand and let it charge for around an hour before testing it. After I took the CordZero from its charger, I was astonished by how light it was. It weighed in at 5.5 pounds. It seemed a bit heavier than stick vacuums that I have previously used. I switched it to “normal” mode to test the suction. I noticed that the vacuum, which produces just 84dB of noise, was quieter than the other models I’ve tried -and the cat did not go about her usual routine. However, she was curious to see the object taking the surfaces’ fur.
The LG model effortlessly slides under my sofa and coffee table without crashing against anything. It also had no issues with the wood and tile floors in my home. After cleaning, I placed the vacuum over a cushioned ottoman my cat typically slept on and attempted to vacuum it. A month of fur accumulation went away in two swipes using this vacuum. It was essentially magic.
The CordZero features Kompressor technology, which can compact all the dirt and dust you drink from surfaces. I was shocked by the amount of debris collected. It was as if my floors had been cleaned after a long time. When I vacuum, my roommate and I may feel bits of trash on our feet; however, this was not what it was with this top-of-the-line vacuum. The beds were spotless, and if you doubt it, then the LG CordZero has an app that informs you of the floor’s cleanliness and provides an update on how well your vacuum works.
I put the vacuum back into the charger, and it emptied itself into the hidden trash bin in moments. The feature of emptying is more loud than the actual vacuuming. It was on for around 30 seconds. However, the specifications say it could last as long as 45 seconds. The head and canister of the vacuum were thoroughly cleaned -I noticed some particles stuck to the head of the void. However, it was gone. The stand is set to automatically empty. However, you can switch that feature off. After I vacuumed and mopped, I took the mop spin. As did vacuuming, the spinning microfiber pads helped remove the tough stains, making cleaning a breeze (and less effort).
The battery’s charge time will differ since the CordZero comes with three types (Normal, Power, and Turbo). In stick mode, these are the running times that are: Normal (80 minutes) and Turbo (40 hours) along with the Turbo (12 15 minutes). If it’s converted into a handheld vacuum, it runs for the following duration: Normal (120 minutes), power (60 hours), and Turbo (14 hours). If you keep the stand connected (it comes with an auto-shutoff after charging), You won’t return home to an empty vacuum.
While this vacuum might be expensive, it has everything you could require. The package includes a Crevice Tool, the Power Mini Nozzle, a Combination tool, and an interchangeable mop head with Microfiber Cleaning Cloths. These tools are tucked within the stand so they don’t take up space or cause eyesores. The mop head can be placed on a hook to the side of the air, but I prefer to place the mop under the cabinet along with other cleaning products.
All in all, I was amazed at the quality of this machine. I had hoped it would not perform to the standards (or price) due to hearing about other friends’ $500 vacuums that weren’t meeting the requirements. Cleaning is one of my least favorite tasks,d yet it seems that the LG CordZero makes it as effortless as possible. Because it cleans up every speck of dirt, I’m convinced it’s leaving my floors clean, while previously, I was moving the fur and dirt around. I agree with AT’s conclusion that this is an excellent investment for hair from pets.
At the moment, the vacuum is currently on sale. It’s on sale for just $150 (massive!) — and you’ll also get an additional 5 percent discount with our exclusive coupon code APR5. This deal only runs until April 16, so don’t delay.
