Cleaning Tips From the Clean My Space Community!

We’ve published over 500 content pieces and created over 600 YouTube videos. Additionally, we’ve had abundant feedback from members of the Clean My Space community. We decided to review a few of our latest videos and select our top advice from you.

Create A Checklist (And A Dream List)

Debra L. states: “I take a notebook and mark each room of my home at the top of every page. Then, I go to each room and write an agenda of the things I would like to accomplish for each area. Then, I review and highlight each item, red for urgent tasks and yellow for things I you really want to accomplish, and green for dreams. In the course of my week I mark off the items as I get completed. I suffer from ADD and this method allows me to go from room to room to complete tasks, and feel like I’ve gotten something accomplished. I also try to complete things in yellow and pink before tackling the green. I hope that I have explained it clearly”.

I’ve received numerous emails since we launched Clean My Space where people come forward and tell us they have ADD or ADHD or any other condition that can be a problem for them. They devised a solution to simplify cleaning for their lifestyle and personal needs. We all wish for a clean environment, but we all have challenges, be it over-stress or ADD or something else that could hinder us from achieving our goals. Therefore, the idea that you have come up with this strategy and it is working for you and your specific requirements is awe-inspiring and should be valuable instruction to another person struggling with their cleaning.

Shower Cleaning Hack

Catherine L. says: “I am not a fan of cleaning my shower and so I make a plan to use a dish brush one that has handles, that you can fill with soap. I fill it up with detergent and vinegar. Everyday I wash the tub or wall while I’m the shower. It’s easy, super efficient, cheap and my daughter is a fan of doing it too”.

This method is very well-liked. A lot of people prefer to clean their showers by this method. There are a few additional tips I’d like to add to ensure you’re doing it right and doing it right. If vinegar is inside the wand, you must ensure you don’t leave the substance on your tile or the wall if it’s a natural stone. Vinegar is a colorless substance that can ruin natural stone, so it’s important to note. The second is to take good proper care of your personal belongings while you’re showering. Dish soap can be very slippery, so if you’re cleaning the house, it’s best to make sure you’re standing in a smooth, grippy area so you’re doing it safely.

Sneak In 15 Minutes

Deydey states: “I like to start getting dressed fifteen minutes before I need to. So when I’m getting at my desk to leave for school or work I’m left with an additional 15 minutes. Since I’m unable to begin any task with this short time, I make use of it to complete short chores like emptying the garbage, emptying the trash can, cleaning all my counters, folding a couple of clothes, removing dirtied clothes off the floor, etc.”.

I am in love with this. This is another instance of people figuring out ways to integrate cleaning into a convenient and sensible routine. In just 15 minutes, you can do many cleaning tasks within that time. I also do this – whenever I get five or ten minutes in a particular area or when I’m working on another project, I’ll find a way to integrate cleaning into the process. So, my home is maintained regularly rather than not letting it get piled up. It’s a great idea.

ABC–Always Be Cleaning

I repeat this to myself every day. I’ve never heard this phrase said in this way. However, I’ve listened to this idea before, and it’s a fact. It’s similar to “Have a place for everything, and put everything in its place.” Regularly tidying is the most effective way to maintain your home’s cleanliness. If you’ve got one of the glasses you’ve recently finished drinking from and then set it down where you are, it will not move into the kitchen. It must be taken there. Remember that you’re trying to keep your house tidy and you wish to maintain it nicely. Do not put anything down. Please place it in a drawer.

Make Your Bed

Betty O. says: “I find that the simple act of making my bed early every morning each morning, helps keep my bedroom clean and tidy. Anything that is out of place or clutter is obvious and gets addressed. At the very least, one room in my home is always looking amazing!”

Washing your bedding can make your bedroom feel more tidy and organized, as well as a healthy and happy space. It only takes a few minutes! We’ve previously discussed this in our videos, where getting your bed ready can positively alter your life. I also enjoyed her suggestion regarding seeing any other clutter you may have in your bedroom, which is so evident because you’ve got that clean bed.

Pre-Treating FTW

Ana M. says: “A thing I love to do while cleaning dishes or washing the kitchen is coat the kitchen with sprays and then soak it in between washing dishes. So, I will only have to clean it so that it is clean, rather than needing to scrub it or apply elbow grease”.

This is amazing because Ana utilizes the idea of pre-treating. This is a topic I discuss frequently. You can use pre-treatment for any room in your home that typically calls for heavy-duty cleaning and scrubbing. You can apply the spray on the surface and let it rest while you perform other chores, and when you get back, the product has the chance to do all the hard work. All you need to do is clean it up – the work is already done!
