What’s Included in a Home Inspection?

Home inspections are conducted by licensed home inspectors who use non-invasive methods to gather information on the safety and functionality of a house. Home inspectors are not allowed to damage a home during a home inspection. When a plumber is looking for a leak she may have to tear flooring or open walls. Home inspectors don’t do this. While we use excellent tools such as wood moisture meters and thermal imaging to detect leaks, it’s still limited in comparison to an invasive inspection. We do not remove panels or compressors from HVAC systems for inspections as it would be considered invasive.

Because they are snapshots in time, inspections are limited. A rainy inspection after three rainy days will be quite different than an inspection in the summer heat after ten days of dry weather. In some cases, personal items in the home can obscure issues. Our inspectors use high-tech equipment, their experience and training to find problems and predict the future. This allows them to perform a comprehensive inspection.

A licensed home inspector, such as the team at Crooker Hancox, performs an evaluation almost exclusively visually. They rely on tools for a variety of measurements.

Home Inspections Are Highly Recommended
