Declutter Your Kitchen: 10 Things to Toss Today!

Do you ever go into your kitchen and walk through a few things, sigh, and then go through and search for what you want? If this is the case for you, then it’s likely there’s something in your kitchen you must get rid of. It’s time to clear out the kitchen!

Magnets

Loading adIn the 80s, My mom used to collect magnetic objects that had phone numbers for the hairdresser, the local vet… and a list of names. Things have changed, and there’s no need for these anymore due to… It’s the internet! Remove any promotional, travel, or other magnets clogging up the refrigerator’s surface. Keep only those magnets with purposeful use or significant sentimental worth.

Flyers and Take-Out Menus

Do you realize that when you make a take-out order, it comes with an option menu? It is usually tucked away in a drawer, with the ” I might need that later” idea. You might also receive an email coupon to get a $1 discount on a hamburger and put it into the drawer. You end up with an entire drawer filled with papers you will use. There’s a way to find all the information on take-outs on the internet, and if you find coupons you would like to use, you can put them into your pocket immediately. You can then take out all the other clutter.

Glass Jars

I’ve spoken about getting rid of old containers; this is a habit I’m at risk of. When I’m done with the contents of a jar, I’m always thinking, ” I could reuse that,” and even if it’s lost the lid, I’ll keep it as ” Maybe, one day, I’ll find the lid!” Let’s admit it: We’ll never locate the lid or use the jar, and into the garbage it goes.

Excess Sauces

It’s time to throw out the sauces you’ve used, but just kind of like. In all honesty, if you ever intended to use it, you’d be using it already. Check the refrigerator and remove everything that’s either on its final legs or expired. Dispose of it properly in a safe, and you can reuse the bottles.

Unused Appliances

If you plan to prepare something for dinner, you’ll want access to the small kitchen appliances you utilize. I don’t like rummaging through things I seldom use (like the pasta maker I have, my magic bullet, and the slap-chop). It’s time to get rid of these appliances. You’ll unlikely discover a need for it shortly, and someone else will likely gain more from it than you do.

Old Dish Towels & Cloth Napkins

If you open your drawer to pick up a tea towel, dish towel, or even a napkin cloth, you’ll come across ones that are stained, have holes, or are just plain worn. Look through your drawer and remove any that’s not fresh or hot. It is best only to have well-maintained items ready to be used.

Rarely Used Cookbooks

I have five Williams-Sonoma cookbooks I do not utilize. It’s time to dispose of them, either give them away or give them away. Cookbooks occupy plenty of space, and although the recipes appear incredible, if you haven’t utilized them,  you’re probably not planning to. Look through the unused cookbooks, save some space, and dispose of the books.

Single Serving Sauces and Cutlery

We don’t take out every day, but if we did, we used to store all the extra packets of ketchup, tiny packets of soy sauce, sweet-and-sour sauce, pizza sauce, cutting boards, and chopsticks In a drawer that was stuffed with junk. You should get rid of everything in it! What’s the reason? There’s a good chance you already have ketchup, soy sauce, and all the rest, but do you require that creamy garlic pizza sauce? If you’re ordering takeaway and know you don’t want the waste, inform them when you place your order.

Spices

You all know that I enjoy cooking and, as a result, I gather several spices from time to time. Sometimes, I’ll get agitated and buy something I’m hoping to use, but I don’t get around to using it. Therefore, go through your spice cabinet, pick out any item that’s old, unused, or even has the tiniest bit left, and throw it away.

Trinkets

When family members or friends visit, they will often leave you with a souvenir. It could be a magnetic item, a shotglass, or a small knick-knack. Although I’m delighted to have gone on this trip, it sounds like a great idea. However, do I require the shot glass that takes up space in my cabinet? It’s probably not. If you’re not a cocktail enthusiast, you need to locate a new home that shot glass, magnet sn, ow globe, or whatever other object you’re not using.
