The Methods To Clean Aluminium Composite Panel Exteriors

There’s no denying that the exterior of buildings always get exposed to pollution, dust, acidic rainwater and other various environmental factors – which can quickly degrade the overall appearance of the ACP (Aluminium Composite Panels). Therefore, if you want your ACP sheets to retain their properties, you need to keep them clean & tidy.

Keeping that in mind, we’re sharing some of the best methods to clean your ACPs, so that you enjoy their combustible cladding benefits for as long as possible.

The Need For Cleaning

With the help of regular cleaning, ACPs will maintain their overall representative finish. Moreover, they will also maintain their quality over time. It’s suggested that abrasive pads should not be used for cleaning purposes and only suitable cleaning agents should be utilised. This is because such agents (including acidic and alkaline agents) can destroy the overall look and shine of the ACPs.

The Need To Perform Gentle Cleaning

To perform gentle cleaning, you need to first use water to rinse the overall area and then use a soft sponge to clean it. Use a lower-level pressure when using the sponge, so that you can remove the stains without affecting its finish. In case the stains don’t go away with water, you need to use neutral detergents diluted with water to clean the same.

If you require further cleaning prowess, you need to use a mild soap solution along with a soft cloth to wipe away the residue. The solution should have a pH level of 8, which stands for neutral. Once you’re done with the cleaning part, you need to wash off the surface with water again. Remember to dry the surface off after you’re done washing.

It should be noted that ACPs should be cleaned especially when the temperature is moderate because extreme heat or cold can affect the cleaning procedure.

Procedure To Clean Aluminium Composite Panel Exteriors

  • Use clean water along with a mild cleaner and detergent, in the ratio 5:1 (five parts of water and one part of cleaner).
  • Apply the solution to the surface of the ACP and then spread it with the help of a sponge.
  • Once you’ve done the same, it’s time to wait for at least one minute to allow the dirt and dust get dissolved into the cleaning solution.
  • After that, take a squeegee and then wipe off the cleaning agent. Be sure to use less force when doing the same. Once done, clean the surface with water.
  • After cleaning the surface with water, take a soft wet cloth and rub off the extra water residue left on the surface.
  • Avoid using any abrasive materials because using so will destroy the shine and finish of the ACPs.
