7 Expert Cleaning Tips You Need To Be Using!

I take my work (well, jobs – plural) extremely seriously. One of them is to teach cleaning tips online. The other, which you might or might not be aware of, is my own cleaning business. I began it in 2006, and throughout the years, I’ve researched and studied as well as trained to become an expert in cleaning.

I’ve trained a lot of people to clean! I’ve taught them how to clean fast and efficiently; I am a huge fan of sharing the tips and tricks that I’ve learned throughout the process. Top To Bottom, Left To Right

The first step is cleaning from top to bottom and then from side to right. When I first began to clean, I was scurrying everywhere. I was cleaning just like a Tasmanian Devil, fast (sporadic) but not efficient. It was absurd. After I was taught about the top-to-bottom left-to-right technique and began implementing it, I could see the difference.

Top-to-bottom works because dirt and dust fall between the upper and the bottom while you clean. If the kitchen is being cleaned, you won’t wish to scrub your countertop first, only to cleanse your cupboards, and later, you’ll see all the crumbs that fell from the cupboard spill onto the clean counter. That’s why you need to clean your counter twice. Therefore, always begin with the top of your work and move down.

When you are going in the left-to-right direction or left-to-right, You can choose! Make sure you are constant. This technique is successful since it prevents you from not having sections or areas. Every corner and part of the room will likely be cleaned since it works regularly.

Dwell Time

In many commercials on TV, you see them spraying an item, then quickly wiping it away, and then the dirt has gone. When I watch this, I am incredibly annoyed since the reality is that the product must be allowed to rest to complete its task! This is a vital aspect of cleaning; it’s referred to as “dwell time” Without it, the product will not perform as well or even work in any way.

Dwell time serves two significant objectives. The first is efficient cleaning. Consider it as hair dye. You can’t apply paint to your hair and expect a quick transformation. Certain products operate similarly to stains. That is, they must be soaked and sat for a while before they can be effective. However, the final product is compelling. This applies to DIY products as well as those purchased from stores.

The other reason for the time spent in the room is to aid in disinfection. If a product is equipped with the ability to disinfect it, then it will require between five and 10 minutes to kill the bacteria. When you’re applying a disinfecting solution, put it on and let it sit for a while, and then clean it up. This way, you’ll have the cleaning you want and the required disinfecting.

Start Gentle

Start with the safest and most gentle product, then gradually increase the dosage – but only if required! This is particularly beneficial for families with pets, children, allergies, or asthma. Indeed, your home is probably much cleaner than you imagine, and a gentle product can often accomplish what you require. Therefore, in most cases, you do not need substantial effects. However, if you’re in a situation in which, for instance, suppose you’ve got a slippery surface or someone was sick on the floor of their bathroom and then, in the event of such a situation, you would prefer to use a more potent, more robust product. In most instances, it’s the DIY recipes we’re talking about or the soft, environmentally safe products that are reliable, efficient, and safe.

The Eye Level Test

When you run your own business, you encounter these pivotal moments when small things happen which will forever impact your company’s future. In my instance, it was a phone call from an unhappy customer (Id her house). The woman told me that her kitchen counter was stained, staining, and I wondered, What’s the matter? I washed the kitchen counter myself for about 10 minutes. What is it you’re talking about? Of course, I acted politely when I called her and then went to her house to investigate the issue. It was discovered that the staining was happening under her microwave, a space I’d never imagined cleaning, but one that you could spot by simply bending down and looking at the eye level. Since then, I’ve used what I refer to as”eye level test” and “eye level test.”

When you have cleaned a surface, crouch to look at it from eye level. Then, examine the surface to determine whether you missed anything. It lets you observe dirt more clearly! Therefore, you should improve your cleaning skills and use the test of eye level every time you clean up a horizontal surface!

Have Everything With You

When I started my cleaning business, I did not follow this policy. I constantly traveled between the kitchen and wherever I was working to pick up various cleaning equipment. This is a hugely inefficient use of time. Taking the time to plan your cleaning schedule can help you save time for the final.

When you are ready to clean the room, gather all the required cleaning equipment and put them in the center of the area you’re cleaning or as a clean caddy. Then you can get back to cleaning more effectively and efficiently.

Parallel & Perpendicular

This is a technique I was taught by home staging experts years back. When I first began the cleaning field, I was unsure of how to keep things looking clean, and, truthfully, the majority of cleaning is making things appear tidy. Even if you’ve spent hours caring for something, it could appear messy if the items are scattered around randomly.

Instead, locate your belongings and stack them (declutter when you need to!) and then line them up towards an edge on the surface the item is seated on, whether perpendicular or parallel to the edge. This way, you’ll have straight, neat lines pleasing to the eyes, and the cleaning task will look professional!
