One of the challenges I encountered frequently as I set up my cleaning business was that I believed I needed to buy 100 different cleaning products. This isn’t true! Top to Bottom, Left to Right
Suppose learning something new, whether a sport or a hobby, is always a matter of starting from a base or the foundations. For cleaning, even though it’s not a game or a pastime, at a minimum, it’s not my thing; it is a good notion of a fundamental foundation.
Every time you take on any room, you must clean, beginning from bottom to top and moving through the space from right to left. This is because it gives you a specific strategy and direction you can always employ. You’ll always know where and what you need to do instead of shifting from one task to another in a random manner. It is essential to be consistent, mainly when cleaning!
Take Your Time
Instead of hurrying through a project and taking the patchwork approach, I like to spend a few minutes identifying precisely what I have to accomplish. I prefer to have my tools, products, and methods in order before cleaning. This may take a bit longer initially, but with time, it becomes a seamless process that is more efficient and efficient.
Focus on MIA
Whatever the amount of experience you have in the cleaning field, you will come across an occasion when you’re looking at your work and are overwhelmed. It’s just a fact. This is where the idea of MIA, or Most Important Areas, comes into the picture. There is no need for every room to be cleaned. It has to be cleaned at once and at the same time.
Ensure you’re focused on the areas you are most likely to see and use in any specific location. For instance, cleaning my daughter’s bedroom, I’m not getting down and wiping down the baseboards daily. Instead, I concentrate on cleansing, tidying her desk, washing the bed, and focusing on the areas frequented. Naturally, I also do other things at times; however, if you focus on those MIA areas, you’ll be on the road to a clean house!
Set a Timer
If we’re required to complete something we don’t would like to do, it’s easy to become distracted and diverted off the task. This is why creating a timer and shutting off your distracting thoughts is important. This will allow you to finish the job quicker and leave with cleaner results at the final!
Quality Products
One of my biggest pet peeves of mine is observing people getting excited about cheap, poor cleaning equipment. I’m not saying that you should get it wrong; I’m always looking for ways to save money wherever possible; however, a lot of the time, you’re forced to augment the weak performance of the item with your time and effort. It’s best to save yourself the hassle, pay the money, and purchase quality tools that allow the equipment to do the job for you. Let your life be simpler by letting the instruments and tools do the hard work!
Vacuum Last
A proficient and skilled cleaner is a professional in cleaning surfaces. In this case, I mean that they dump everything on the floor. When I was first introduced to this idea, I was skeptical and thought it was odd, but I understood in time that it is logical and the most effective method to work. Clean all surfaces before you’re done, take a sweeper, and then vacuum. It’s a great experience. It also cuts your cleaning time by half! Boom! Now you’re cleaning like a professional.
Schedule It
Always a firm believer in the fact that anything scheduled is accomplished. If you look at my calendar, you’ll discover a myriad of things put on the calendar. This is how I lead my life and how I keep my house clean. If you’re struggling with time management and finding the time to do things, plan it all out in blocks. Cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, washing laundry, or whatever you need, plan it into your schedule!
